Project Manager (Low Carbon), Greater Manchester Combined Authority

 

Give us a brief description of your background

I have an undergraduate degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Manchester, and an MSc in Political Science from Aarhus University.

Following this, I’ve worked in various project officer and management roles in Local Government. Initially focused on Town Centre Regeneration & Economic Development. Recently making the move into delivering projects to support decarbonisation across Greater Manchester for the Combined Authority.

Who/what inspires you?

Dedicated public service inspires me, teams working together to create positive change and decarbonisation at the regional level and achieving encourages me to continue to work hard to deliver successful outcomes for the community.

What does the word leadership make you think of?

Leadership is believing in a vision and bringing people on a journey to support the vision. Looking beyond the immediate but making decisions & working partnerships to reach set goals.

How do you feel about taking part in the Future Leaders programme?

I am an enthusiastic about learning from colleagues and course mentors, understanding the different ways to be a leader in the low carbon space.

What do you think are the keys to a sustainable future?

Acknowledging the opportunity cost of not acting to create a sustainable future, and appreciating the benefits of decarbonisation, the natural world and sustainability.
