Give us a brief description of your background

I currently work at MCS as a Management Accountant, having initially joined the company in June 2023 as a Finance Assistant. With over eight years of experience in finance and accounting, my career began through an apprenticeship while studying for my AAT qualification.

In October 2024, I successfully completed the CIMA qualification and became a Chartered Global Management Accountant. My studies were both engaging and highly relevant, particularly due to their emphasis on sustainability in business. They also introduced me to the emerging and increasingly important field of green finance, which I believe plays a vital role in driving the success of the renewable energy sector.

Who/what inspires you?

One of my greatest inspirations is my mum, who not only encouraged me to pursue a career in finance but continues to demonstrate that with dedication, resilience, and a strong work ethic, it’s possible to achieve your goals. Her example has been a guiding force throughout my professional journey.

It’s also incredibly motivating to contribute to an organisation that champions renewable energy and upholds high standards of quality. Being part of a team that is actively shaping a more sustainable future is both empowering and deeply fulfilling.

What does the word leadership make you think of?

To me, leadership is all about growth, flexibility, and bringing people together to achieve something meaningful. It’s not about having all the answers or being the loudest, but about creating an environment where everyone feels heard, supported, and motivated to do their best.

How do you feel about taking part in the Future Leaders programme?

I am genuinely excited to begin the Future Leaders Programme and to engage with and learn from those around me. I look forward to the personal and professional development this journey will offer and to applying the insights and skills gained to enhance my current role.

What do you think are the keys to a sustainable future?

I believe the keys to a sustainable future lie in education around renewable energy technologies and a strong focus on cost and affordability – ensuring these innovations are accessible to everyone.
